For Knight’s Templar enthusiasts, Hereford Cathedral is a must!  There is a  shrine of Bishop Thomas de Cantelupe (1218-1282), a former Grand Master for England of the Knights Templar. It also houses the Mappa Mundi,  a map of the world that shows the history, geography, destiny of humanity as it was understood in Christian Europe in the 13thC. It is one of the world's most unique medieval treasures.  The pedestal in the shrine is carved with fifteen Knights Templar figures.  We will also visit the churches associated with the Knights Templars, St. Mary's Church, Welsh Newton and St. Michael's Church, Garway, a powerful Templar initiation site. On our route we will stop at Tintern Abbey in the beautiful Wye Valley.
